What Is a Mapped Drive?
A Mapped drive is just a shortcut to a drive that’s physically located on a different computer.
A mapped drive is used to access something from a different computer in your network.
It will have it’s own letter assigned to it and opens as if it were local.
Depending upon which security groups you belong to such as “Faculty” or “Student Services”, you most likely have some default mapped drives. Even our Students have their own mapped drive.
